About him: Fibonacci was born in 1175, in Italy in Pisa. His real name was Leonardo Pisano which literaly translates as Leonardo from Pisa. He was then given a nickname like many writers at the time. Fibonacci was lucky enough to be born into a rich family of traders and ventured through the Arab Eastern European countries to the Western European, exposing him to many different mathematical techniques

Achievements:

Published a book called "Liber Abaci" which introduced arabic numerals to European societies, they were more efficient that the latin numerals.

Discovered a sequence which could approximately predict the growth of a population effectively.(Fibonacci sequence explained later)

Discovered the Fibonacci Spiral.
